Valentine’s Day may be on Feb. 14 every year, but that doesn't mean you have to cram all of your celebrating into one night. Head out on this romantic road trip down the Pacific Coast Highway, and the sweeping ocean views, world-class dining and jagged mountainsides will make you and your sweetheart so glad you did.
Begin in Monterey
The romantic road trip down the Pacific Coast Highway starts in Monterey. If you've got some time in the city, be sure to check out the Monterrey State Historic Park, Fisherman’s Wharf and Cannery row. Just three miles south of Monterey, you and your love can get romantic in Carmel-by-the-Sea — a cute village featuring five-star restaurants, quaint inns and adorable shops.
Explore Big Sur
Few natural settings are more romantic than the jagged cliffs and crashing waves of Big Sur. Park your RV at the Big Sur Campground and Cabins and float the Big Sur river or splurge on a romantic cabin at Fernwood Campground and admire the mountain views.
After you depart from the ocean for a while south of Big Sur, you’ll reunite with it again in the charming town of San Simeon. Explore the pristine beaches and spend a night or two at San Simeon State Park. If you’re up for a little more adventure, rent a canoe or a couple of kayaks and get out in the deep blue Pacific.
Finish in Morro Bay
Your romantic road trip will come to an end in Morro Bay where you’ll admire tons of local wildlife as well as the 23-million-year-old Morro Rock. Spend a night camped on the beach reminiscing about your adventures at Bay Pines RV Park. You’ll love the clean restrooms, free Wi-Fi as well as the heated pool and spa after a long, romantic road trip.
Before you hit the road for your California road trip adventure, be sure to stop by CCRV — your Corpus Christi RV dealer — to make sure your RV is in top shape. And if you’re in the market for a new or used RV, we can get you in the motorhome or travel trailer of your dreams before your trip.
